FAQ
Common questions about estate planning & probate
Answers to the questions we hear most often.
How much does estate planning cost at GA Law Group?
We offer transparent, flat-fee pricing for most estate planning services. A basic will package starts at a fixed rate, while comprehensive trust-based plans are quoted after a brief consultation. There are no hourly surprises — you know the cost before we begin.
Do I need a trust, or is a will sufficient?
It depends on your assets and goals. A will alone passes through probate, which is public, time-consuming, and costly in Georgia. A revocable living trust avoids probate and is generally recommended for anyone with real property or a desire for privacy.
How long does the estate planning process take?
Most estate plans are completed within two to four weeks. We begin with a consultation to understand your goals, draft your documents, review them with you, and finalize with signatures.
When should I update my estate plan?
Review your plan after any major life event — marriage, divorce, the birth of a child, significant asset changes, or the death of a named beneficiary or executor. We recommend a general review every three to five years.
